Student Support Services
Individual Student Plans (ISPs)
Students for whom regular instructional methods or curriculum goals have to be changed are provided with an Individual Student Plan. This plan lays out the educational objectives for the student and the strategies that will be used to help the student meet the objectives. An ISP is produced in consultation with parents, and must be agreed to by parents before it can be implemented.
A counsellor works part time at Wye School. The counsellor provides counselling and assessment services to individual students. The counsellor works with groups of students to assist them with friend skills and social skills.
Small group, part-time assistance is available on a limited basis to students who demonstrate difficulties or a lag in achievement in Mathematics or Language Arts. Parents must give permission before this service can be provided.
Speech Language Services (SLP)
A Speech Language Pathologist works in the school one day a week, pulling out students to work one-on-one. Parents must give permission before this service can be provided.
